Blown Fibre
Blolite for Telecoms

Blolite for Telecoms is a comprehensive Blown Fibre product set which gives planners the ultimate advantage in network construction and operation, allowing them to offer world-class solutions to their clients.

Installation

Minimal installation risk - Micro duct tubes are installed with fibre blown in using compressed air at a later date, providing a unique way of minimalising damage during installation. Should the duct become damaged at any time in the life of the network, it can simply be removed and a new section inserted without disruption, avoiding expensive time and resource- consuming fibre cable repair work.

Ease of installation - Splicing is not required as the ducting system is plugged together and a continuous length of fibre blown in from customer premises to network access point or vice versa.

Speed of installation - as soon as bloduct infrastructure is installed, secured and tested, the fibre can be added without risk. The fibre is installed at speeds up to 40m/min, only requiring connections at the customer termination and network interface.

Long-term operational reliability - During the manufacture of conventional optical cable, stress is introduced into the fibres contained within the sheath. In blown fibre however, once the airflow is turned off, the fibres are under zero tension. This ensures long-term operational reliability and system integrity.

Strategic presence - installing an empty Blolite for Telecoms infrastructure gives network operator planers a distinct strategic advance by providing a migration path to fibre based services for existing and potential customers as and when required. A blown fibre network not only minimises the risk of investing in expensive and possibly redundant dark fibre - it also eliminates the need to upgrade the whole network at once.
